Tonight I was invited to discuss the history of the infamous LaLaurie Mansion and Madame Delphine LaLaurie, former owner of what is now believed to be the most haunted site in the entire city of New Orleans.

We went for a visit this afternoon to the Fort Amanda Cemetery & State Park, which features a monument to Fort Amanda and also some very old graves dating back to the war of 1812. We were mainly there to check out the location and take some photos and video footage, but not under any sort of an investigation.
Because the park closes at sunset, a park ranger showed up and let us know he was closing up for the night. He also mentioned that he has to regularly chase out ghost hunters after hours who show up with various equipment to record phenomenon at this location, because apparently it is quite active.
With this additional information, and the realization after we arrived that this is in fact a very old and important historic location thanks to the detailed plaques erected by the Johnny Appleseed Foundation. Photos and video to follow as I have the time to review and/or edit our findings during this visit.
Halloween, a bastardization of the term 'All Hallows Eve', can easily be referred to as one of the most controversial of all modern American holidays. Everyone has an opinion. Most fall into one of two categories; they either love the holiday or rail vehemently against it as the celebration of evil. This later category of people will shout their belief's of the evil's of the holiday to whom ever will give them a chance, often utilizing guilt tactics and accusations of devil worship in an attempt to win their argument. To those of us who enjoy this holiday, these people and their foolhardy accusations are the equivalent of a bothersome gnat.
